Johnson Stables is located on the Johnson Ranch, 20 miles southwest of Lemmon SD, nestled in the rolling hills along the North Grand River. The Johnson Ranch has been owned by the same family for over 100 years, established by Oscar Johnson in the late 1800's. The Ranch is home to a 350 head cow/calf operation, in which 90% of the mother cows are home raised. Each year approximately 50-60 heifers are kept back as replacement heifers to replenish the main herd. Johnson Stables also homes about 30 race bred QH broodmares, and stands 3 stallions. Our pride is in raising quality colts that are athletic, kind and versitile. We're proud of the fact that we use here on the ranch, in the arena and on the racetrack, our home raised horses.
